A&TC RSD-15 #442
In 1999, the Austin Steam Train Association found their steam locomotive, Southern Pacific 786, needed some major repairs to its cylinder casting which resulted in taking the locomotive out of service, this required the organization to buy a diesel locomotive in the interm while 786 was down, the organization acquired ex-Indiana high rail RSD-15 #442 and brought it down to Texas and painted in a special modified “black widow” paint scheme that was very famous on the Southern Pacific, it ran up until 2016 where it was taken out of service due to major repairs needed to its trucks. It is only one of two RSD-15s that have ran in preservation.
In a joint collaboration between TGM 2018 and LonghornRailfan, both have recreated this Texas icon in Trainz and can be used for your operations!
