The ALCO RSD-7 was…not a very good locomotive from what I’ve heard.

 

Originally meant to compete with the Fairbanks Morse H-24-66, it proved to be a massive flop for ALCO, especially with its 244 Engine, and hilariously, even sold less examples compared to the H-24-66.

 

(29 RSD-7s compared to 127 H-24-66s)

 

Unsurprisingly, it was made during the time where railroads were weary about 6-Axle engines, so that also contributed to its failure, and if you might’ve guessed by now, none of them survived, big deal.

 

…At least their cousins, the RSD-15 came in and proved to be much more successful.
